Scrapbook Having Fun

Now in this post Nannyone will be explaining that having fun, is a great part of Scrapbook enjoyment. In any hobby liking what you do, makes all the difference, that is ; being creative, sharing topics with friends and others.
To get the best results from anything you do, depends on how much effort you put into in the first place. With this I mean, sharing your stories with others on the Web in blogs, in social media sites, going to workshops, finding websites that have information about your particular hobby.
There are also Scrapbook Getaways- where you all go away for a weekend together and scrap. The ones I have been to are awesome. You can even scrap in your PJ's if you want. There are games you play, prizes to win, all in all just having fun.
So Scrappers get to work, pasting, painting, stamping, Journaling, etc. At the same time make it a fun project and get together with others swapping ideas and having a party.
I just wanted to leave you with a little something to remember Scrapbooking is all about making memories with your photo's and Having Fun.

Nannyone signing off until we meet in next post.

Page Content

Hi Everyone, NannyOne says it is time to start working the pages. With this I mean adding content to each page, of your scrapbook. You should already have your photo's on the page, and now wondering what else you need to smarten the page up.

Remembering that your photo should still be the main focus on the page. Having to think of other items to add to your page, well I have a few ideas that may help you, and these consists of

Embellishments-- brads, flowers, clips, pins, beads
Ribbon, stickers, chipboard, letters, paint,
You can even use stamping on your page, have a tear paper effect using a contrast colour from the background. You can use foam dots to lift your photo off the page, or use he foam dots to raise other items off the page. All this is page content, just adding special effects to your photo.
Further more NannyOne has been busy with her blogs, establishing an area for people just like me, to find a site that helps them to scrapbook their photo's, and follow simple instructions along the way. This can be from simple beginnings to digital scrapbook. As I progress with the blog, I will touch on the area of digital scrapbook.
Well I think that I will pop a little item that I have made for you to browse.

Memories

NannyOne hopes you all enjoyed watching the last video, did you get any new tips that you can use in your own scrapbook designs.
In this next post I will be chatting about Memories. Now, when you are working on your pages, you are most likely going down memory lane with some of your photo's, as I did when scrapping my children's albums.
With their album's I started with photo's from before they were born up to their last years of school. Yes NannyOne had a few laughs and tears, on the whole, though a lot of great memories.
We all have our photo's collected in boxes, drawers and in albums ( this was like a scrapbook), showing them off to family and friends when ever they turned up. Today with new-age technology, new upmarket camera's, and computers, people are not wanting to sit for hours looking through photo albums. Photo's are downloaded onto the computer straight away, so sending them to family and friends is so much quicker and easier.
With these new ways of looking at your photo's, most times you are unable to capture the real feeling and story behind the photo. That is where scrapbooking comes into the picture.
Having these memories telling a story, makes browsing your photo's much more enjoyable. Passing these memories onto your grandchildren, having them telling their children about their heritage, with photo's and a story attached, will make looking at photo's, not a boring old task.
Until next time NannyOne catches up with all, I am signing off now, with another video for you to watch.

Building Pages

My, NannyOne had better get cracking on building more tips for my fellow readers.
Now that you have set up your work space and have have all your materials in order, you can then continue on your journey to accomplish your first Scrapbook Album. Once you have an idea of what you would like to add to your pages, then it is simply just cutting, sticking, stamping, writing your text (journal), and having FUN !!!
Some great NannyOne Building page tips are;
  • Do not over crowd your page,
  • Make sure your photo is the main attraction on the page,
  • Use the two sides of the one piece of cardstock, for 2 pages
  • Design your pages with a different layout, each time
Time is slipping by, so I would like to give you a little video that may be of interest, for building ideas for your scrapbook.

Stepping Stones

Welcome back to the next segment in Nanny One's, scrapbook adventures.
Following on from my last post, you now have the photo's in order. Now it is time to pick a theme for your project. When you have picked the photo's you want scrapped, you are now ready to get underway.
Before you start, make sure you have good space to work in, this will make it so much easier to think and design your pages.
Materials you will need are a cutting mat, cutter/ cutting knife, glue, ruler, scissors, photo mounting squares, adhesives, paper, cardstock, album, paints/ stamps. At this stage all you have to do is work out your layout for your photo's on the cardstock and paper, then attach the photo's onto the background you have chosen.
When I first started I went out and purchased a lot of materials and equipment that I did not need, a first. So when you are starting out, just buy the minimal things you require, to make the pages of your album.
NannyOne will have some more great tips next post.

Beginings

Well I better get to work on this venture, as my last post was very short.
I started to scrapbook only around 2 1/2 yrs ago. I have always taken lots of photo's on my travels, only to put half in albums and the rest in boxes, and forgotten about. With having quite a few moves in my life, around 30plus, you can see I have plenty of photo's to scrap!
When I was invited to join a scrapbook workshop, get-together, I thought it would be a good idea to go along and find out what it was all about. Well guess, I got hooked!! I found a great way to get my photo's into albums, tell a story and live memories at the same time.
First you need photo's, and with these it is always good to sort them into categories, such as family, holidays, school days, these are just a few ideas. You can put the photo's in photo boxes or similar item, have dividers and label them so when you decide what you are going to scrap, you can quickly find the photo's you need.

You! can Scrapbook

Most people today, have a hobby or would like one. A Scrapbook hobby is to have fun with your photo's. This can be done either in Albums, Frames, on Canvas, Collage or just in a scrapbook.
Today there are a variety of clubs, getaway's, workshop's and online nets, to have fun with your photo's. You can obtain material for your creation's, from anywhere in the world today, these include most countries, online internet sites, that have places where you can shop for your material's.
To start, firstly one of the essential's for Scrapbooking is your Photo's. You may think this is silly, but I have been to a few workshop's, where the person has arrived at the event to work, only to realize they left the main ingredient at home!!
Well until next time, when I am ready to tell you more on how to make your photo's tell a story!
